The Deputy Governor of Kanchanaburi attended the 1st anniversary of the Hero Stone to commemorate the sacrifice and courage of the deceased who died during the construction of the Death Railway.
Today ( 1 May 2025) at 10.00 a.m. Mr. Athisan Indra, Governor of Kanchanaburi Province, assigned Lieutenant Suphamongkol Deputy Governor of Kanchanaburi Province attended the 1st anniversary of Hero Stone at Wat Thavorwararam Kanchanaburi (Wat Yuan), Mueang Kanchanaburi District, Kanchanaburi Province, along with Director of Tourism Malaysia in Bangkok Heads of government departments in Kanchanaburi Province, a group of Malaysians Veterans, families of prisoners of war, and all distinguished guests.
Kanchanaburi Province is an area of historical importance, especially during World War II, which was a time when many important events occurred. One of them is the construction of the Death Railway and the bridge over the River Kwai, which has become a symbol of sacrifice. The courage and endurance of the Allied prisoners of war included soldiers from Britain. Nearly 400,000 workers from various Asian countries such as China, Yuan, Java, Malay, Thailand, Myanmar and India, including the United States, the Netherlands, Australia, and New Zealand. Even in the face of challenging environments. But those people have demonstrated the spirit of patience, sacrifice and human dignity to the utmost. Many lives have to leave without returning, but their courage will never fade from memory.
On the occasion of the 1st anniversary of the creation of the Hero Stone Memorial (Nadukal) to commemorate the sacrifice and courage of the deceased. This memorial is not just a marker of memory, but a sacred symbol that reminds us all of the importance of peace. Respect for the dignity of our fellow human beings and the lessons from the past that should be inscribed so that such losses do not occur again in the future.

วันนี้ ( 1 พฤษภาคม 2568) เวลา 10.00 น. นายอธิสรรค์ อินทร์ตรา ผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดกาญจนบุรี มอบหมายให้ ว่าที่ร้อยตรี ศุภมงคล บูชาถ่ายเทศ รองผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดกาญจนบุรี ร่วมงานครบรอบ 1 ปี Hero Stone ณ วัดถาวรวราราม กาญจนบุรี (วัดญวน) อำเภอเมืองกาญจนบุรี จังหวัดกาญจนบุรี พร้อมด้วย ผู้อำนวยการการท่องเที่ยวมาเลเซียประจำกรุงเทพมหานคร หัวหน้าส่วนราชการในจังหวัดกาญจนบุรี กลุ่มชาวมาเลเซีย ทหารผ่านศึก ครอบครัวเหล่าเชลยศึก และแขกผู้มีเกียรติทุกท่าน
จังหวัดกาญจนบุรีเป็นพื้นที่ที่มีความสำคัญทางประวัติศาสตร์ โดยเฉพาะในช่วงสงครามโลกครั้งที่ 2 ซึ่งเป็นช่วงเวลาที่เกิดเหตุการณ์สำคัญหลายประการ หนึ่งในนั้นคือการก่อสร้างเส้นทางรถไฟสายมรณะ และสะพานข้ามแม่น้ำแคว ซึ่งได้กลายเป็นสัญลักษณ์แห่งความเสียสละ ความกล้าหาญ และความอดทนของเชลยศึกฝ่ายสัมพันธมิตร ได้แก่ ทหารจากประเทศอังกฤษ สหรัฐอเมริกา เนเธอร์แลนด์ ออสเตรเลีย และนิวซีแลนด์ รวมถึงแรงงานจากหลากหลายประเทศในภูมิภาคเอเชีย อาทิ จีน ญวน ชวา มลายู ไทย พม่า และอินเดีย รวมทั้งสิ้นเกือบ 400,000 คน แม้ต้องเผชิญกับสภาพแวดล้อมที่ท้าทาย ภารกิจที่เหน็ดเหนื่อย และข้อจำกัดทางสุขภาพ แต่ผู้คนเหล่านั้นได้แสดงให้เห็นถึงจิตวิญญาณแห่งความอดทนความเสียสละ และศักดิ์ศรีความเป็นมนุษย์อย่างสูงสุด หลายชีวิตต้องจากไปโดยมิได้กลับมา แต่ความกล้าหาญของพวกเขาจะไม่มีวันเลือนหายไปจากความทรงจำ
ในโอกาสครบรอบ 1 ปี ของการสร้าง อนุสรณ์ Hero Stone (Nadukal) เพื่อรำลึกถึงความเสียสละและความกล้าหาญของผู้ล่วงลับ อนุสรณ์แห่งนี้มิใช่เพียงหมุดหมายแห่งความทรงจำ แต่คือสัญลักษณ์อันศักดิ์สิทธิ์ที่เตือนใจให้เราทุกคนตระหนักถึงความสำคัญของสันติภาพ การเคารพในศักดิ์ศรีของเพื่อนมนุษย์และบทเรียนจากอดีตที่พึงจารึกไว้เพื่อมิให้เกิดความสูญเสียเช่นนั้นอีกในอนาคต
